There are three different types of sleep apnea: mixed, central and obstructive. Sleep apnea is the period where a person stops breathing when they are sleeping. Excess weight will produce extra fatty cells that my deposit around the throat. Drinking will depress the nerves and relax the air passage muscles. Some additional sleep apnea cures include a breathing device called a CPAP or BiPAP machine, surgery, mouth plates to pull the jaw forward and move the tongue out of the way to allow better breathing.
